Here at Pixel we do things differently to other website builders when it comes to SEO. We cover all of the technical heavy lifting before you even get started.

Pixel Together SEO

Usually, you’re given a massive technical checklist of all the things to take care of and keep up to date with when it comes to SEO. This can be complicated and confusing since SEO sits somewhere between a dark art and exact science. However with Pixel we decided to cover a lot of those things automatically so you don’t have to worry about it.

Plus, when new SEO rules are introduced, we keep your site up to date for you.

When you create a new website using Pixel Together, know that the below is already done ✅️

Fast Page Loads

1. We compress all of the code. That means: we reduce the file size of the code to save space when storing it and reduce time when sending it.

2. We then load it onto dual global CDNs - [these are servers located in countries across the world so your site only has to travel close to where you are physically located when you view it]. These two things make our load times lightening fast - which makes Google and all Search Engines for that matter, happy.

We generate clean code automatically

We don’t do semantic errors - think of this as the writing equivalent of not doing spelling and grammatical mistakes. As well as being good practice, auto-generating clean code helps Pixel run faster, because it’s quickly understood by your browser as well as search engines. It sounds like common sense - but in reality clean code on the internet is about as common as your four year old announcing “just going off to clean my room Mum and Dad”.

All of our sites are responsive (mobile and tablet friendly)

Pixel allows you to easily optimise your site for all devices (desktop, tablet and mobile). If you’re new to Pixel and want to know how to best do this: read this article and quickly sort yourself out now, it’s really simple. The search engines give preferential treatment to a website that works beautifully on desktop, tablet AND mobile…

We’ve got all the correct Meta Data tools you need

watch this video

Meta Data is how you describe your site to search engines, social media networks and more. The text that displays in a google search or when posting your site on Facebook, that’s Meta Data. And the internet and search engines like it if you give each page a good title and short description.

Alt Tags are specifically meta tags to images

As above - give all your images a text description to let Google know what your image is about. Have you ever hovered over an image and seen a text description? That’s an alt tag. e.g. if you have an image of your friend Jack’s amazing lemons then a good alt tag to boost SEO could be “Jack’s Best Lemons”.

Automatic SSL Security

All sites are SSL secured automatically and have automated forwarding of non-SSL to SSL to ensure your site is not competing against itself. This means we have the security already baked in. And search engines penalize you if you’re non secure. At Pixel, this job is done.

Canonical Links

We setup canonical links on each page so your site is not competing with itself. Think of this as our technical team putting out a fire you never knew existed! OK this is a hard one for a non-technical like myself to get my head around, - but here we go - this prevents problems that can occur with search engines when you have duplicate pages across multiple domain urls. I might just go and pat the technical team on the back for that one. Phew.

We follow the latest SEO news

We keep your site up to date and don't suggest outdated site updates that Google ignores - e.g. a lot of leading SEO tools still  recommend using the html lang attribute, which Google now ignores

The Future

Next time, we’ll delve deep into how to set up the content structure of your website so you can also achieve good SEO.
